" The only charm of the past, this is that it is the past. " ( Oscar Wilde )
When we are child, we have a different definition of "charm" that today. For every children, charm is is related on imagination, the magic and the dreams. Today, when we grow up and when we begin to build our futur the charm is just : Attraction, seduction, characters which like and attract at a person or a thing. In short, it is a sexual attraction.
When I was a child, i believed in magic and everything around magic. Like every child i believed in Santa Claus and the tooth fairy ( in french we say " la petite souris " ). Funniest was that I really believed in it. I believed in it so much that I contradicted all the children who did not believe in it or more and which said to me that it was only silly things.
After a few years I am in my returned turn account which they were really silly things for children. I was a little sad because I felt a little betrayed by the adults, a little swindled, a little misused.
When we grow up, the life becomes more realistic, the magic dies out.
I think children need to believe in something because that maintains the innocence of the children and allows them still to dream a little, to preserve them outside world even if the return to reality is hard. I think that remains necessary to the good development of the child. I will dream to fall down in childhood, the moment of unconcern etc…
