8 secrets of success

I saw a video about secrets of success according to Richard  St John. There are 8 secrets. I 'm going to expose to you this secrets :

- Passion : You must be passionate by the work that you want to do. It's necessary to love this work. You must find the motivation. All it's personnal not financial.
- Work : You must work hard to success. If you want success you need work hard because nothing is easy.
- Good : If you are competent is better. You must to try to be better everyday and everytimes. Give the best of you.
- Focus : concentrate on something and to excel in this field. The practice is the key to success.
- Push : You must to push yourself to success. You need to forget the fears, the stress, the apprehensions...
- Serve : You must serve people. Every work need exchange with other people so you need to serve them if you want to make a good work.
- Ideas : You can to be like bill Gates if you ar a very very good idea. It's the key of success.
- Persist : It's very important. You must always persist despite the difficulties.

I don't know what is the best secret of success. I think all it's necessary. In a first time I think Passion is very importante to success because if you are passionate by something that you love to do you are more motivate. So if you are motivate, you can do anything. After the passion the hard work is necessary because the passion is not sufficient to success. Hard work allows to go up in the hierarchies. After it's necessary to persist because when you work you must face many difficulties and you need to push yourself to face them. So it's very hard to take one secret because all is necessary but I think the first to follow is passion. In fact, most people do a work that they don't like and they are so sad and depressive sometimes. They can't progress in their job because is not passionate. They just want to have money to live but they are not happy so I think it's necessary to be passionate because it's more justifying and you can progress while being happier and by wanting still more to advance.
So please be passionate and live your passion with perseverance and hard work, practice practice and practice as far as you can it.

How art gives shape to cultural change

I looked a video entitled " How arts gives shape to cultural change " by Thelma Golden. It's talking about black culture through paintings.

I choose the table of art at the 11.54 in this speech. on this picture we can see that the dominant color is the white. This work represents a hand of a black man who holds snow. In background, we have vast extended from ice or snow with an outline of mountain and a blue sky strewn with clouds. what I like in this work, it is that it appears very pure. The snow in the hand looks like a cloud and it's like the man can touch the sky. It's simply a mark of hope, freedom and change. All this is underlined by contrast between the decoration very pure, very white, very clearly and the arm and the hand with the black skin. That accentuates the attention of the glance.
Moreover, the man tightens his hand forwards that proves that he tightens his hand towards the future, that he believes and he hopes in the future : the worst is behind him.
So I think this picture is just a message of hope and liberty. So i like very much this work.

Now, I'm going to try to answer at some questions :

                 1) How do images work, according to Thelma Golden ?

It's a spectacle with the works made by artists whose instruction was to represent the life such as they see it and to define it by passion. Works represent problems of the life or what the artists would like to see changing. Art makes it possible to be expressed, to be made hear and understand. I think Art gives shape to cultural change. It's like an mark of about history. And it's more effective than a book or a classroom because you can imagine the works and you can interpreted the message alone and it's more interesting.

2)Which questions does she raise about the role a museum plays in a society ?

According to Thelma Golden, museum is very important in society for artists and works. In fact, museum is a public place which gathers and exposes collections of works of art, objects and documents which are of cultural interest. It's a place of questions and answers. Thelma Golden think that museum is " the space for contest of ideas" . In short, the museums make it possible to pose reflexions on cultures and to change them.

I'm agree with Thelma Golden when she says “think about artists not as content providers […] but again as real catalysts” because artists gives their ideas through their works. The work of the artists push us to the reflexion. Indeed, when we are vis-a-vis a work, we put questions and we start to see the point of view of the artist and we conform to this point of view. They share their ideas and they push with the debate what involves changes. That's why the artists are catalysts. They cause the change by striking practices what enables us not to forget the message of it.
